Apparently writing about the tools I use to make apps and distribute them is helpful?  I have been asked to add to this list and will blog on items I use to get the job of making apps done.  I love efficiency and design. I guess that may be why I am such an Apple fan? I have used several tools for making my icons and launch images in the past but the one from Mark Bridges is the best. It is called Asset Catalog Creator and was recently updated to include making Apple Watch icons as well.

The tool is dead simple to use. Drag your image into the window.

Select your output directory and what you are making and click the “Create Asset Catalog”.  It will then output the data into a directory and show you brief instructions on how to add the media directly into your app in xcode.

Once you follow these easy instructions you should see your necessary images in your xcode project.  You need these to submit the app so it has the proper icons and media sizes.

So there you have it. Go grab this easy to use tool from the Mac App store and make this part of app development a little easier and faster.
